Delay in implementation of NIS2

The government reports that the implementation of the NIS2 directive into national legislation requires more time than expected. The Dutch draft legislative proposals are not expected to be presented until the summer of 2024, making it impossible to meet the European implementation deadline of October 17, 2024. At the bottom of the blog you can find the full letter from the ministry to the Dutch Parliament.

Take action now

Despite this delay, the Minister of Justice and Security calls on organizations not to wait until the new law is clear, but to take action now. She indicates that measures that organizations take now will better prepare them for existing risks and help them to comply with the new legislation later. QS solutions is always in favor of measures that strengthen your cybersecurity and keep your business processes safe. We also encourage organizations to improve their cybersecurity now, rather than later. But how? The NIS2 directive prescribes concrete measures that organizations can use to prepare now. Consider testing digital risks and creating awareness among staff.

A test as a starting point

At QS solutions, we believe that to work on your cybersecurity, you need to identify where you are as an organization and know how mature your cybersecurity is. That is the starting point for improving your cybersecurity. The best way to determine this is through a security assessment. With this you establish the maturity level and measure the impact of the measures you have already taken. QS solutions helps organizations with this. Our Cyber Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) offers a complete overview of your cybersecurity, measures and possible deficiencies. In addition, you receive a concrete action plan that provides a starting point for both IT and business to take your cybersecurity to the next level.

Don’t wait, act now. Start testing your cybersecurity today!
